ALEX ORRELLE was the Co-Director of the animated feature KLAUS for Netflix starring Rashida Jones and JK Simmons, and before that was the Director of CONDORITO: THE MOVIE – based on the popular South American comic book character – which was released by Fox Latin America in October 2017 and topped the box office in Chile, Peru, and Colombia. The movie was released in the US by Lionsgate and Pantelion Films. Born in London and raised in Tel Aviv, Alex got his start in animation at Pixar where he worked as a story artist and animator on FINDING NEMO and THE INCREDIBLES as well as a handful of shorts. Following his time at Pixar, Alex founded his own animation studio, Crew 972, through which he produced and was CGI Director on THE LOONEY TUNES SHOW Road Runner and Coyote segments for WB Animation. Following his LOONEY TUNES work he was offered a job as Animation Director on the live-action hybrid YOGI BEAR movie for WB. Alex currently is the Head of Story of WB's SPACE JAM 2.
On the television side, Alex is currently directing episodes of the upcoming animated series LEGO CITY for Lego Group and Nickelodeon. He also recently sold his project ADRENALINE JUNKIE LEMMINGS to DreamWorks TV, a retooling of a feature project of his that was previously set up at Paramount. And in addition to what’s listed above, he’s also developing a few ideas with Verve writers in both the traditional family animation space as well as edgier, more adult animation as well.
