Carlos is an award-winning commercial director and Student Academy Awards finalist for his animated short film "Toumai." Before joining Laika Animation Studios, he worked for acclaimed design and animation studio Superfad in Seattle and then design powerhouse Logan in New York City. He was consulting in-house for Luma Pictures and recently set up a two picture development deal there. He directed the award winning short THE ALCHEMIST LETTER. This short follows a hapless, aspiring alchemist named Veridian Flemel who inherits a memory-fueled machine that produces a magical elixir; he finds himself in a battle to hold on to his memories while fighting an evil force threatening his village. This was optioned by Chernin Entertainment. He sold ZERO, a spec based on his original idea, to Animal Logic and Imagine. He is now directing this project at WAG. He was also chosen as the director on the upcoming SPEEDY GONZALES. In addition, Amazon hired him to direct the trailer for their new game engine Lumberyard and he's currently finishing up the AVATAR cinematic trailer for the upcoming game based on the new movie.
