Taylor Meacham
Manager: Tarik Heitmann, Sam Sleiman
After Graduating from Emerson College in 2014, Taylor Meacham moved to Los Angeles and began working in Post-Production Management on Disney’s Tinkerbell and the Legend of the Neverbeast. Although the beginning of his career was in animation management, his affinity for story telling kept him working on his own stories in his spare time.
In 2015, Taylor left to work for Dreamworks Animation as a Production Coordinator on the feature film Trolls. Shortly after, at the age of twenty-four, his career took an unexpected pivot when his short film "To: Gerard" was selected out of the Dreamworks’ Shorts Pitch Program. Through the program, he was given the unique opportunity to write and direct the film even though he had not held a conventional creative or artist role at the studio.
In the short film "To: Gerard", Taylor combines his love for the art of magic and the inspiration of his father to tell this personal and heartfelt story. The message focuses on how the greatest magic in life is inspiring someone-else to follow their dreams, even if you have not accomplished your own.
Since then, Taylor’s journey from Production Management to Directing has afforded him the ability to work creatively on various other Dreamworks’ projects and has moved him into the role of storyboard artist on feature films such as "The Croods: A New Age" and "Puss in Boots 2". He continues to explore stories observing how unexpected moments in our lives can lead to unexpected gifts.
Taylor's short film "To: Gerard" recently premiered at the 2020 Tribeca Film Festival this spring and has gone on to win the Annecy Festival Junior Jury Award and the SIGGRAPH Audience Choice Award, with more festival announcements to come.
